Activities for Learning and Reinforcing Music Concepts
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
Movement activities: dance, creative movement, and singing games
Interpreting expressive tempo and dynamics signs found in music notation
Fun with Vocal or Instrumental identification
Focused listening activities
Really Rhythm / Melody Mania / Heavenly Harmony (activities to reinforce the “big 3” of music composition concepts)
Partner games / Teamwork activities
Geared primarily for elementary-level music teachers, this Playful-shop offers a wide variety of activities which students perceive as games, even though they are actually learning and reinforcing intrinsic music concepts in the process.
Participants will enjoy this active, fun-filled session, and will gain a variety of resources for engaging their students to motivate learning. Many of these singing and movement games can also be used as assessment tools.
